Mental Health America

Mental Health America (MHA) is the nation’s leading community-based nonprofit dedicated to addressing the needs of those living with mental illness and promoting the overall mental health of all. MHA’s work is driven by its commitment to promote mental health as a critical part of overall wellness, including prevention services for all; early identification and intervention for those at risk; integrated care, services, and supports for those who need them; with recovery as the goal.

NAMI-NYC offers life-changing education, support, and advocacy through our peer-led programs -- free of charge to anyone who needs them -- throughout New York City. We understand what you’re going through, because we’ve been there. You are not alone.

Our classes and support programs provide family members and friends with the tools they need to help their loved one and better support themselves, and offer individuals living with mental illness the tools needed for self-care and recovery.

We also support employers of all sizes as they work to develop and sustain mentally healthy work environments. We offer a variety of workshops designed for employees, managers, human resources staff, and leaders on topics such as Managing Stress in the Workplace, Mental Health Tips & Tools for Managers, and Suicide Prevention. We are in the midst of a project, funded by the Wellcome Trust and in partnership with NYU and Mental Health Innovations, exploring the viability of mental health peer support in the workplace, particularly as it relates to young adults.
